In this case, with this already 36-year-old ’90 Seat Marbella, it always takes a while for the engine to start. At her tender age of 19, Valerie is now trying to get the engine going. 

She tries gentle pumps, but also more forceful ones. In her youthful uncertainty, she laughs from time to time, especially when the engine seems like it might start. But that still takes quite a while. She keeps pulling the choke as a starting aid, but also pushes it back in again. What’s the right amount? How to handle the gas pedal? How to handle the choke?
